TORONTO: Canada announced Friday that it is relocating non-essential diplomatic staff and their dependents from Tel Aviv, due to ongoing tensions in the region as the US weighs striking Iran.&nbsp; &ldquo;Global Affairs Canada has made the decision to temporarily relocate non-essential employees and dependents from Tel Aviv,&rdquo; the department said, noting that operations at Canada&rsquo;s embassy in Israel would continue uninterrupted. Canadian diplomatic staff and their families in Lebanon and Palestine will remain in place, according to the statement. &ldquo;Canadian staff and their dependents in Lebanon and Palestine remain in place, and our missions continue to operate normally,&rdquo; the government said. &ldquo;Canadians in Iran should leave now if they can do so safely,&rdquo; the statement added.
