Saudi Arabia intercepted ballistic missiles

Saudi Arabia's defense ministry said its forces detected and intercepted five ballistic missiles aimed at the Kingdom's Eastern Province.


The brief statement posted on X did not specify where the missiles originated.


Iran strikes Kuwait power station, killing one Indian worker: electricity ministry

An Iranian strike on a power station in Kuwait killed one Indian worker and damaged a building at the site, the Gulf state's electricity ministry said.


"A service building at a power and water desalination plant was attacked as part of the Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, resulting in the death of an Indian worker and significant material damage to the building," said Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, a spokesperson for the ministry.


US crude benchmark rises above $100 at open, Brent above $115

The price of the main US benchmark for oil rose over 3% to once again surpass $100 a barrel, while Brent climbed above $115 with no end in sight for the war in the Middle East.


A barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) — the US benchmark — for May delivery rose 3.50% to $103.13 just minutes after Asian markets opened.


A barrel of North Sea Brent meanwhile rose 2.98% to $115.93.
