ISLAMABAD: International condemnation continued this week over last week&rsquo;s coordinated attacks in Pakistan&rsquo;s Balochistan province, as security forces killed 22 more terrorists in ongoing counterterrorism operations, Pakistani officials said. Pakistan has faced a renewed&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/pakistan-reaffirms-resolve-after-security-forces-kill-108-indianbacked-terrorists" style="color:#0073e6;">surge</a>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/balochistan-cm-vows-wont-surrender-even-an-inch-after-coordinated-attacks" style="color:#0073e6;">militant violence</a>&nbsp;in recent years, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan&rsquo;s (TTP) decision to end its ceasefire with the government in November 2022. Last week&rsquo;s coordinated assaults, claimed by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), left 17 security personnel martyred and 31 civilians dead. Addressing the National Assembly on Monday, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said security forces had carried out decisive intelligence-based operations in response. &ldquo;In total, 177 terrorists have been eliminated,&rdquo; he told lawmakers, referring to operations conducted over the past several days. According to Reuters, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that 22 additional &ldquo;Indian-backed militants&rdquo; were killed in the latest phase of operations, bringing the cumulative toll to 177. Speaking after the attacks, Naqvi said the violence was not the work of &ldquo;ordinary militants&rdquo; but was orchestrated with external backing. &ldquo;India is behind these attacks,&rdquo; the interior minister said, adding that the militants received financial, planning, and operational support. He vowed Pakistan would pursue all those involved, including facilitators and planners, and expose them &ldquo;before the world.&rdquo; As news of the expanded operations emerged, governments and international organizations issued fresh statements condemning the violence and expressing solidarity with Pakistan. The Chinese Embassy in Islamabad said it &ldquo;deeply mourns the lives lost&rdquo; in the attacks and extended condolences to the families of victims and the injured. &ldquo;China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and will continue to support Pakistan in fighting terrorism, maintaining social stability, and keeping its people safe,&rdquo; the embassy said. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reiterated its principal rejection of what it described as &ldquo;terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,&rdquo; affirming solidarity with Pakistan and support for its efforts to safeguard security and territorial integrity. The European Union (EU) also condemned the attacks, saying it &ldquo;unequivocally rejects terrorism in all its forms and stands with Pakistan.&rdquo; &ldquo;Our deepest condolences go to the families of civilians and security personnel affected by the recent attacks in Balochistan, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured,&rdquo; the EU said. France said it stood in solidarity with Pakistan against &ldquo;terrorism in all its forms,&rdquo; while the Russian Embassy emphasized the need to &ldquo;combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.&rdquo; &ldquo;We hope those responsible for these heinous acts will be identified and brought to justice,&rdquo; the Russian statement said. Azerbaijan reaffirmed its &ldquo;firm support for international efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,&rdquo; expressing solidarity with Pakistan. Canada, the Maldives, and Sweden also conveyed condolences and support. Earlier, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, T&uuml;rkiye, Qatar, Norway, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States had similarly denounced the Balochistan attacks. Pakistani authorities classify TTP and BLA as &ldquo;khawarij,&rdquo; a term rooted in early Islamic history that Pakistani officials use to describe extremist groups that reject legitimate authority and target civilians and state institutions. Officials said counterterrorism operations remain ongoing, with security forces maintaining heightened vigilance across affected areas.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan&rsquo;s security forces have killed twelve Indian-backed militants in a clearance operation after terrorists carried out activities in Kharan City in the Balochistan province, the military&rsquo;s media wing said on Friday. Pakistan has <a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/eight-militants-killed-in-intelligencebased-operation-in-kalat-ispr-says" style="color:#0073e6;">witnessed</a>&nbsp;a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/13-indianbacked-militants-killed-in-intelligencebased-operations-in-pakistans-northwest" style="color:#0073e6;">surge</a>&nbsp;in <a href="https://www.pakistantv.com/article/11-indiabacked-terrorists-killed-in-kp-intelligencebased-operations-military" style="color:#0073e6;">violence </a>in recent years, particularly in KP and Balochistan, following the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan&#39;s decision to end its ceasefire with the government in November 2022. Earlier this month, the military said terrorist incidents increased sharply following the military conflict with India in May last year, stating that, in its assessment, India subsequently activated proxy groups operating from Afghanistan to destabilize Pakistan. In a press release issued this week, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said &ldquo;approximately fifteen to twenty Indian sponsored terrorists&rdquo; carried out multiple activities in Kharan District. The terrorists targeted City Police Station, National Bank of Pakistan, and Habib Bank Limited, during which &ldquo;Rs3.4 million were looted&rdquo; from the banks. In an effective response, the security forces engaged with the terrorists, prompting them to retreat.&nbsp; &ldquo;During the ensuing clearance operation, twelve terrorists were sent to hell in three different engagements,&rdquo; the press release said.&nbsp; &ldquo;Terrorists&#39; design to create a hostage situation at the police station was also effectively thwarted,&rdquo; it added. The military said that the &ldquo;sanitization operation continues in the surroundings to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorists.&rdquo;&nbsp; &ldquo;A relentless counter-terrorism campaign under vision &lsquo;Azm-e-Istehkam&rsquo; by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,&rdquo; ISPR said.

12 Indian-backed terrorists killed after attack on police station, banks: Pakistan army

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan&rsquo;s security forces have killed thirteen Indian-backed militants in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military&rsquo;s media wing said on Thursday. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted on January 13 and 14 following reports of militant presence in Bannu and Kurram districts. In the first operation, carried out in the Bannu district, security forces engaged militants after establishing their location. &ldquo;During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, eight Khawarij were sent to hell,&rdquo; the ISPR said. Islamabad refers to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as &ldquo;Khawarij,&rdquo; drawing on a historical term for an extremist sect from early Islamic history that defied recognized authority and branded other Muslims as unbelievers. In a separate intelligence-based operation in Kurram district, five Indian-backed militants were killed during an exchange of fire, the military said. 13 Indian-backed militants killed in intelligence-based operations in Pakistan’s northwest

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday presided over the 273rd Corps Commanders&rsquo; Conference (CCC) held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to a statement by the military media.&nbsp;The meeting conducted a detailed review of internal and external security environments, focusing on evolving threats and operational preparedness, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.&nbsp;&ldquo;Due to the joint efforts of the Government and Pakistan Army and the steadfast support of the Pakistani people, our country is moving gradually but surely toward stability, broader opportunities, and honor and dignity&rdquo;, added the statement.&nbsp;The conference participants reaffirmed that all &ldquo;terrorists, their facilitators, and supporters operating under Indian patronage&rdquo; will be dealt with decisively.&nbsp;Military&rsquo;s top brass vowed that any &ldquo;malicious efforts&rdquo; aimed at undermining Pakistan&rsquo;s unity, security, and stability would not be tolerated, said the statement.&nbsp;The field marshal also paid tribute to the law enforcement agencies, innocent civilians who lost their lives in terrorist activities, and the Armed Forces for &ldquo;their courage, professionalism, and sacrifices&rdquo;, added the statement.&nbsp;The forum also reiterated Pakistan commitment to the people&rsquo;s &ldquo;right to self-determination and their legitimate struggle&rdquo; in Kashmir and Gaza.&nbsp;The CDF Munir also expressed his full confidence in Pakistan Army capability to effectively &ldquo;counter conventional and sub-conventional threats as well as asymmetric challenges&rdquo; to the country sovereignty and territorial integrity, as per the statement.&nbsp;&ldquo;The COAS and CDF directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, physical fitness, technological innovations, and battlefield adaptability,&rdquo; the statement concluded.

Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir led the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference, reviewed security threats, vowed action against terrorism, honored sacrifices, and reaffirmed support for Kashmir and Gaza.

Pakistan military leadership vows to crush facilitators of terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed 18 terrorists affiliated with the India-backed group Fitna al Hindustan, a term used by Islamabad for the banned Balochistan Liberation Army, in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan, the military&rsquo;s media wing said on Thursday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out on October 28 and 29 in Quetta and Kech districts following reports of terrorists&#39; presence. In the first operation in the Chiltan Mountains area of Quetta district, security forces engaged the terrorists&rsquo; location, killing 14 after an intense exchange of fire. In another IBO in the Buleda area of Kech district, four more terrorists were neutralized. The ISPR said that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the killed terrorists, who had been involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region. Sanitization operations are underway to ensure no remaining terrorists remain in the area.&nbsp;The statement added that the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the vision &ldquo;Azm-e-Istehkam,&rdquo; approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue with full determination to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country. PM lauds successful counterterrorism operation Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operations and paid tribute to their bravery and resolve. &ldquo;The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our security forces in the war against terrorism,&rdquo; the Prime Minister said. &ldquo;We salute their courage and unwavering commitment to protect the homeland.&rdquo; He reaffirmed the government&rsquo;s commitment to eliminate terrorism in all its forms, adding:&nbsp;&ldquo;We are determined to root out terrorism completely from our soil.&rdquo;

18 India-sponsored terrorists killed in Balochistan operations: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani forces killed 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists in Orakzai during an operation on Tuesday. Eleven soldiers, including two officers, were martyred. According to a statement issued by Pakistan&rsquo;s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the area on the reported presence of &ldquo;Khwarij&rdquo; (terrorists) belonging to the Indian proxy, &ldquo;Fitna al-Khwarij.&rdquo; During the operation, 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed. The prime minister expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif and Major Tayyab Rahat as well as the courageous soldiers of the Pakistan Army in the security operation. Sharif prayed for the martyrs and for patience and steadfastness for their bereaved families. &ldquo;The sacrifices of the fearless sons of the security forces will by no means go in vain,&rdquo; the prime minister said. &ldquo;We will crush the nefarious designs of the Indian‑backed terrorists,&rdquo; Sharif said. &ldquo;We will not allow elements who harm Pakistan&rsquo;s integrity to succeed. The government is determined to completely eradicate the monster of terrorism from the country.&quot;
