ISLAMABAD: A mortar shell fired from the Afghan territory struck a residential area in the southwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early in the morning, injuring three people, including a female police constable, police authorities confirmed to Pakistan TV Digital.&nbsp;According to district police, the shell landed in a house near the border in South Waziristan district , wounding two women, one of them a police constable, and a male resident.&nbsp;Officials said the women sustained minor injuries, while the man was reported to be in serious condition.&nbsp;The incident occurred during the early hours, when the mortar was reportedly launched from across the Afghan border into Pakistani territory, hitting the civilian neighborhood.
