ISLAMABAD: Pakistan&rsquo;s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing on Saturday to co-chair the 7th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers&rsquo; Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the Foreign Office said in a statement.&nbsp;According to the statement, Dar was received upon arrival by China&rsquo;s Special Representative on Afghanistan Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong, Pakistan&rsquo;s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, and senior officials of the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing.&nbsp;The Foreign Office said the visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. Dar is the first foreign dignitary to visit China in 2026.&nbsp;Describing the significance of the engagement, the statement said the Foreign Ministers&rsquo; Strategic Dialogue is &ldquo;the highest consultative mechanism between Pakistan and China,&rdquo; providing a structured platform to review the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest.&nbsp;&ldquo;During the dialogue, the two sides will review ongoing collaboration, identify new areas of partnership, and take forward the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China,&rdquo; the Foreign Office said.&nbsp;The two foreign ministers are also expected to announce a series of initiatives and commemorative activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China in 2026, the statement added.&nbsp;The visit forms part of regular high-level exchanges between Islamabad and Beijing and reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen bilateral ties, while reaffirming mutual support for regional peace, stability, and sustainable development, the Foreign Office said.

BEIJING: China&#39;s foreign minister warned on Monday that a &quot;multipolar world is coming&quot;, a veiled jab at Washington ahead of key talks between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping.&nbsp;Global markets are watching closely to see if Thursday&#39;s planned meeting between the two presidents can halt a trade war sparked by the sweeping tariffs Trump announced after returning to office this year.&nbsp;Speaking at a forum in Beijing on Monday, Wang Yi urged &quot;an end to politicizing economic and trade issues, artificially fragmenting global markets, and resorting to trade wars and tariff battles.&quot;&nbsp;&quot;Frequently withdrawing from agreements and reneging on commitments, while enthusiastically forming blocs and cliques, has subjected multilateralism to unprecedented challenges,&quot; Wang said, without naming specific countries.&nbsp;&quot;The tide of history cannot be reversed, and a multipolar world is coming,&quot; Wang said.&nbsp;Trump began a tour of Asia on Sunday, which is set to culminate in a meeting with Xi in South Korea -- the first face-to-face talks between the two leaders since the US president began his second term in January.&nbsp;US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and China&#39;s Vice Premier He Lifeng have already held two days of trade talks, seeking an agreement to avoid additional 100% tariffs set to take effect on Nov. 1.&nbsp;China&#39;s vice commerce minister, Li Chenggang, said a &quot;preliminary consensus&quot; had been reached.&nbsp;Bessent told ABC that the extra tariffs had effectively been averted and signaled that a deal on rare earths and American soybean exports had been reached.
