Israel warns residents against movement in several Lebanese villages

The Israeli army has dropped leaflets from the skies in the Tyre district in southern Lebanon, warning residents about its military operation, according to Al Jazeera.
In videos published on social media, the army warned residents against moving south of several villages and their surroundings, confirming its positioning to confront what it described as “the ongoing terrorist activities” of Hezbollah.
The villages included Mazraat Bayt al-Siyada, Majdal Zoun, Zibqin, Yatar, Sarbin, Hadatha, Bayt Yahoun, Chaqra, Majdal Salam, Qabriha, Froun, Al-Wakkar al-Gharbi, Yahmur al-Shaqif, Arnoun, Deir Mimmas, Marjayoun, Ebel al-Saqi, Kfar Shouba, Al-Mari, Ain Qinya, and Ain Ata.
Death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza rises

At least 72,585 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel’s genocidal onslaught began in Oct. 2023, Al Jazeera reported, quoting the Palestinian Health Ministry.
It added that 809 people have been killed since the October 11 “ceasefire” came into effect.
Iran FM, Sultan of Oman hold consultations on regional situation

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman had a meeting with Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, consultations took place regarding the latest developments in the regional situation, mediation efforts, and endeavors aimed at ending conflicts, during which the Sultan was briefed on the Iranian side's perspectives regarding those developments, said a post shared on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Iranian foreign minister listened to the Sultan's views on ways to advance these efforts in a manner that enhances opportunities for reaching sustainable political solutions and limits the repercussions of crises on the peoples of the region, with the Sultan affirming the importance of prioritizing the language of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing issues, in a way that contributes to consolidating the foundations of peace, according to the post.
For his part, the Iranian foreign minister expressed his country's appreciation for the positions of the Sultanate of Oman under Sultan Haitham's leadership in supporting dialogue efforts and enhancing endeavors for security and stability in the region, especially amid the current regional challenges, the post said.
Israel claims to kill three Hamas fighters

Israel has claimed to kill three Hamas fighters, Al Jazeera reported, citing the Israeli military. The fighters included a commander who had infiltrated Israel during the Hamas-led attacks of Oct. 7, 2023.
The Israeli military said the others were a Hamas platoon commander, who “led numerous attacks” against Israeli forces in Gaza, and the third was an operative in the group’s military intelligence unit.
There was no immediate comment from Hamas, according to Al Jazeera.
Trump says Washington shooting unlikely linked to Iran war

US President Donald Trump said Saturday a shooting at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner would not deter him from the Iran war, although he believed the incident was unlikely linked to the conflict.
"It's not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, I really don't think so, based on what we know," Trump told reporters in a briefing at the White House after the shocking security incident.
Trump had earlier said, however, that "you never know" if it could be linked to the Iran war, and said investigators were working on the motive of the shooter whom he described as a "lone wolf."
Araghchi holds calls with Egyptian, Turkish counterparts

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has spoken by phone with his Egyptian and Turkish counterparts, as diplomatic contacts continue over regional tensions and the Iran-US negotiation track.
IRNA reported that Araghchi and Egypt’s Badr Abdelatty discussed diplomacy, a possible ceasefire, and the latest regional developments.
Anadolu reported that Araghchi’s call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan focused on recent developments in the Iran-US negotiation process.
More Israeli strikes reported in southern Lebanon: State media

Israeli warplanes carried out fresh strikes across southern Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported, citing Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency.
The attacks targeted the town of Khiam in the Marjayoun district and Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district, according to the report.
The agency also said Israeli artillery shelling was reported in the area.
