ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and several Muslim-majority countries on Sunday strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire, warning that the actions threaten regional stability and undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts, according to a joint statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

The statement said the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar denounced Israel’s actions, which they said have resulted in the killing and injury of more than a thousand Palestinians despite an agreed ceasefire.

The condemnation comes amid ongoing tensions following the establishment of the Gaza Peace Board, proposed in September last year by US President Donald Trump as a body tasked with restructuring and overseeing the Gaza peace plan.

The board was formally established in January 2026, on the sidelines of the 56th World Economic Forum, with major approvals from the Muslim world, including Pakistan.

Ever since its formation, Israel has repeatedly violated the agreement, carrying out heavy strikes across Gaza that have killed scores of civilians, including women and children.

According to authorities in Gaza, more than 500 people have died in repeated Israeli strikes, including at least 32 killed across the Gaza Strip on Saturday alone.

“The ministers consider that these repeated violations constitute a direct threat to the political process and hinder ongoing efforts to create appropriate conditions for transitioning to a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip, both in terms of security and humanitarian conditions,” the statement said.

The joint communiqué stressed the need for full commitment from all parties to ensure the success of the next phase of the peace process, emphasizing that restraint is critical to preserving the ceasefire.

The foreign ministers also called on all sides to uphold their responsibilities during this critical period and refrain from actions that could derail progress toward stability.

The statement further underlined the importance of creating conditions conducive to early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, while reaffirming support for “a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood,” in line with international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
